Stallion Owners - act now ready for breeding season!

Stallion fertility is a massive topic with so many factors that can impact on the reproductive performance of the stallion, nutrition is just one of them. Malnutrition is known to cause poor quality semen.

Sperm takes approximately 57 days to be produced by the stallion, therefore it is important that their nutrition is optimised with plenty of time before the first covering.

The process of chilling or freezing semen ready for artificial insemination (AI) can cause injury to the sperm cell by disrupting membrane lipids, it can also affect their viability, motility and freezing capacity. Research has shown that supplementing omega 3 fatty acids improves semen quality particularly in those that have previously struggled to chill or freeze their semen.
