Maikel van der Vleuten

Maikel van der Vleuten and Beauville WEG 2022 jumping

We use the Super So Kalm, I prefer horses with a bit of blood, but they are often a bit stressed, the Super So Kalm helps them to relax and focus in the arena which gives the better results.

Maikel van der Vleuten

Maikel van der Vleuten grew up around horses, following in the footsteps of his father Eric van der Vleuten, along with his brother, Eric Jr. Maikel began riding aged 6 and started competing internationally aged 13 in the Pony Classes. He gained gold, silver and bronze team medals at the Junior and Young Rider Show Jumping European Championships throughout his youth career.

Maikel stepped up to seniors in 2010, competing at his first 5*, and jumping in his first senior championship for the Dutch team in 2011. He has been a member of the Dutch Show Jumping team at European and World Championships, becoming team champions in both, as well as gaining individual medals. Maikel is a 3-time Olympian, helping the Dutch team to a Silver Team Medal in London 2012, and gaining an Individual Bronze Medal at the Tokyo Games.
