Social Media Manager

Job Description:

We're looking for a highly creative, proactive, and self-driven Strategic Social Media Manager to take full ownership of the digital presence and content strategy for the Equine America Group portfolio, which includes our key brands: Equine America, Cortaflex, and Horse First.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be the primary driver of our social media performance. You'll work closely with our Video Content Creator, the wider Marketing team, and external agencies to ensure our content is impactful, accurate, and reaches the right audience. If you live and breathe equestrianism and social media strategy, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

Social Strategy & Planning

Lead the Way: Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies tailored to the unique goals and target audiences of all three brands: Equine America, Cortaflex, and Horse First.

Daily Delivery: Take full accountability for the day-to-day delivery—from strategy documentation and scheduling to copywriting, posting, and performance review—across all relevant platforms.

Brand Integrity: Uphold the distinct voice and tone for each brand, ensuring clear differentiation while maintaining the scientific credibility and ethics of the Equine America Group (e.g., adherence to BETA NOPS/Clean Sport standards).

Content Creation & Collaboration

Agency Coordination: Work closely with the Marketing team to serve as the primary social contact for external agencies running paid advertising. This includes coordinating campaign timings, ensuring organic content aligns perfectly with paid media messaging, and efficiently supplying them with approved assets and copy.

Workflow Hub: Manage the master content calendar within ClickUp, making sure the scheduling, task tracking, and communication flow smoothly between the Marketing team, the Video Content Creator, and external partners.

Brand Voice: Write all primary social media copy. This means skilfully translating complex nutritional and scientific information into clear, engaging, and compliant messaging for three distinct brand voices.

AI Integration for Efficiency: Strategically utilize AI tools (e.g., generative AI for initial draft content, idea generation, or image tagging) to enhance creative output, speed up copywriting iterations, and optimize asset management workflows, always ensuring final copy and assets adhere to brand guidelines and compliance standards.

Asset Management: Curate and select the best photography, graphics, and video files provided by the creative team for scheduling, and prepare these assets for use by external agencies.

On-the-Ground Content: Attend key equestrian shows and events as required to capture live content (interviews, atmosphere, product demonstrations) and manage show takeovers.

Rider Relations & Community Management

Influencer Partnership: Collaborate with the wider Marketing team on managing sponsored riders and industry influencers. This involves communicating content briefs, tracking fulfilment, and strategically leveraging high-quality user-generated content (UGC)

Community Engagement: Be the digital advocate for all three brands. Proactively engage with followers, confidently answer product queries, and ensure prompt responses to all DMs and comments.

Reputation Watch: Actively monitor social channels for potential negative sentiment and swiftly implement approved response procedures to protect our brand reputation.

Reporting, Analytics, & Optimization

Performance Deep Dive: Independently track, measure, and analyse performance across all three brands using platform insights and reporting tools.

Actionable Insights: Prepare detailed, strategic monthly reports for the Marketing team and leadership, providing key learnings and clear recommendations for boosting engagement, conversion, and traffic.

Budget Oversight: Oversee and manage the strategic allocation of paid social boosting budgets across the product lines, ensuring collaboration with the agency running performance campaigns.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: A minimum of 3+ years driving social media strategy and execution for multiple brands, ideally within the equine, animal health, or nutrition supplement industries. Proven ability to coordinate effectively with external media or creative agencies is essential.

Knowledge of AI & Automation: Proven knowledge of current AI technologies (e.g., Large Language Models, Generative Imagery) and how to strategically apply them for content efficiency, audience analysis, and social media automation without compromising brand authenticity or data integrity.

Workflow Mastery: Expert level proficiency in using ClickUp (or similar project management software) for managing detailed content calendars and complex team workflows.

Self-Starter: A proven ability to manage the entire social media lifecycle (strategy through reporting) independently and effectively.

Equestrian Insight: A deep-seated understanding of the horse world, competition, rider culture, common equine health topics, and the paramount importance of Clean Sport compliance.

Core Strengths: Excellent copywriting skills, strong analytical judgment, a willingness to accommodate required travel to events, and an obsessive attention to detail.
